The Kappa Sigma chapter at San Diego State University recently took part in their university “Aztecs Rock Hunger” food drive. Led by their A Greater Cause chairman Danny Dyer, the chapter was able to raise over $3,000 for the Jacobs & Cushman Food Bank.
During the event the chapter competed against other groups and organizations on campus. This is the second year in a row Epsilon-Iota has won the competition and are looking to do it again next year. “It’s just great being able to give back to the community while also being able to get a win for Kappa Sigma,” said Brother Dyer.
Kappa Sigma is committed to making a difference in the lives of others. It is this commitment that has provided the inspiration and vision for A Greater Cause – the Fraternity’s bold initiative to promote volunteerism, citizenship and service to the community. During the 2013-2015 biennium, Kappa Sigma members raised more than $5.8 million for charity and volunteered over 1.1 million hours of community service as part of the initiative.
