On the evening of April 29th 2016 the highly coveted John G. Tower Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented to Kappa Sigma Brother Bert “Tito” Beveridge.
Brother Beveridge is a successful businessman who is the founder and owner of Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Brother Beveridge created his business from scratch in Austin, TX and he has turned it into an award winning, nationally recognized brand that is distributed throughout the world. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is the first legally approved distillery in the state of Texas.
The award was presented to Brother Beveridge by the Kappa Sigma Supreme Executive Committee (Board of Directors) at a local alumni event held for the Austin, TX area alumni. During the event Tito Beveridge told those in attendance,

“for all the awards I’ve won I credit them back to Kappa Sigma.” He went on to say, “all of my success can be attributed to Kappa Sigma.”

The John Tower Award, named after the revered Texas Senator, is presented annually to a non-volunteer alumni. The Award recognizes Brothers who bring great honor to Kappa Sigma Fraternity, whether it is through service to his community, outstanding career work, or other achievements.
