The Tau Chapter at The University of Texas at Austin hosted its third annual Horns For Heroes philanthropy event on Thursday, November 17, raising over $20,000 for the Military Heroes Campaign. Horns for Heroes is an annual benefit concert the Chapter puts on in downtown Austin. This year, Texas country artist Roger Creager headlined the event and made a generous contribution to the cause, along with the Rick Warren Wildlife Gallery and Tito’s Handmade Vodka – whose founder and CEO is Brother Bert B. “Tito” Beveridge (Tau, The University of Texas at Austin, ’81).
In the past three years alone, the Tau Chapter has raised over $200,000 to support our nation’s veterans and their families through the Military Heroes Campaign and the SEAL Legacy Foundation. The brothers of Tau would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of those who gave their support, especially Brother Tito Beveridge and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the Rick Warren Wildlife Gallery, Roger Creager, and also the A Greater Cause foundation for making these charitable endeavors possible.
A Greater Cause is the Fraternity’s bold initiative to promote volunteerism, citizenship and service to the community. During the 2013-2015 biennium, Kappa Sigma members raised more than $5.8 million for charity and volunteered over 1.1 million hours of community service as part of the initiative.
