Kappa Sigma welcomed 35 initiates into the Tau-Xi Chapter at Bethel University in McKenzie, TN on Saturday, May 2, 2015, becoming the 400th chapter to receive its charter in the Fraternity’s history. Tau-Xi was colonized in May 2012. The Brothers of Tau-Xi were initiated by ritual teams from several nearby chapters. The ritual teams were led by Ritual Commission Member Nathan T. Sellers (Xi-Eta, Christian Brothers University, ’10).

The following chapters sent ritual teams:

  • Theta Prime – Cumberland University
  • Kappa-Iota – Middle Tennessee State University
  • West Tennessee Alumni Association

Worthy Grand Master of Ceremonies Toby H. Taylor (Epsilon-Psi, Lambuth University, ’95) attended the ceremonies and provided the keynote address at the installation banquet. The chapter is led by Grand Master Christian Cardwell and assisted by Alumnus Advisor Billy W. Tedford III (Xi-Eta, Christian Brothers University, ’10).

Tau-Xi is located in the Western Tennessee District where Brother Clifford A. Hughes (Epsilon-Psi, Lambuth University, ’02) serves as District Grand Master.

About the Tau-Xi Chapter

Tau-Xi was founded on May 2, 2015 at Bethel University. The chapter has 35 men on its roster and has completed more than 2,000 hours of community service in its short existence.
