The 2013 Man of the Year Banquet for Adm. William E. “Bill” Gortney (Lambda-Lambda, Elon University, ’74) will be held on the evening of November 9, at the Ramada Convention Center in Burlington, NC. The Lambda-Lambda Alumni Association has planned the banquet in conjunction with Elon’s homecoming weekend, and the chapter’s 40th anniversary celebration.
The schedule of events for the weekend is below. Registration for these events can be completed on Elon University’s homecoming website (scroll through to locate the Kappa Sig events).
Friday, Nov. 8 –
- 10am – Phoenix Club Alumni Golf Tournament (The Challenge Golf Course, registration, green fees apply)
- 8-11pm – Kick-off Reception (Moseley Center 215, free)
Saturday, Nov. 9 –
- 9:30am – Formal Chapter Meeting (Brothers only, LaRose Digital Theater, free)
- 11am-1pm – Tailgating (Hunt Field, free)
- 1:30pm – Elon vs The Citadel football game, Admiral Gortney recognized as Honorary Team Captain (Rhodes Stadium, ticket required)
- 6pm-1am – 2013 Man of the Year Banquet (Ramada Convention Center, coat and tire required, banquet fee)
