On December 10, 2013, 144 years to the day after the Five Friends and Brothers came together at the University of Virginia to found the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, 46 members were pledged into the newly formed Providence, Rhode Island Colony. The colony is led by GM Michael Carfi, who began the interest group last year, Alumnus Advisor Julien Levesque (Xi-Beta, Northeastern University, ’09) and DGM Robert Ranley (Xi-Beta, Northeastern University, ’05).

The colony, pictured, has already begun completing their requirements for chartering, including several community service events, workshops and school events. They have become the largest fraternity on campus, and continue to look for quality men to enhance the group of Founding Fathers.
