Kevin Rollins
Officer First Class Kevin Rollins will be receiving a “Life Saving” award from the Chesterfield County Police Department for his actions on July 1st of this year. Officer Rollins was dispatched to a disturbance call when he noticed that a nearby woman was unable to speak and breathe. Jumping into action he administered the Heimlich maneuver and was able to remove a piece of food that had become lodged in the woman’s throat.
Brother Rollins attended VCU and joined Kappa Sigma as a member of the Lambda-Zeta chapter. “I am just glad I could be there,” said Officer Rollins, and “it is good that the community could see some positive police interaction.”
Brother Rollins is no stranger to being honored and was given the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) award for his work leading his department in DUI arrests in 2013 and 2014.
