Kappa Sigma alumni and undergraduates around the world are celebrating the fraternity’s 144th Founders’ Day. It was on December 10, 1869, that founders Arnold, Boyd, McCormick, Nicodemus and Rogers met in McCormick’s room at 46 East Lawn on the grounds of the University of Virginia and founded what would become North America’s leading college men’s fraternity.
Today, Kappa Sigma is represented on more than 300 college and university campuses throughout North America, and has nearly 18,000 undergraduate members. In the fall 2013 semester alone, undergraduates have logged more than 111,500 service hours, and raised nearly $405,000 for charitable causes. These are all feats Kappa Sigma’s founders would be proud of.
Happy Founders’ Day, Brothers! AEKDB
