Kappa Sigma welcomed 37 initiates into the Tau-Lambda Chapter in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, March 28, 2015, becoming the 397th chapter to receive its charter in the Fraternity’s history. Tau-Lambda was colonized in December 2013. The Brothers of Tau-Lambda were initiated by ritual teams from several nearby chapters. The ritual teams were led by Ritual Commission Member Nathan L. Bates (Kappa-Mu, Tennessee Tech, ’10).
The following chapters sent ritual teams:

  • Pi-Kappa – Bentley University
  • Tau-Eta – University of Rhode Island
  • Xi-Beta – Northeastern University

Worthy Grand Scribe Jeffrey S. McKenzie (Xi-Lambda, University of Delaware, ’97) attended the ceremonies and provided the keynote address at the installation banquet. The chapter is led by Grand Master Michael J. Carfi and assisted by Alumnus Advisor Julien E. Levesque (Xi-Beta, Northeastern University, ’09).
Tau-Lambda is located in the Eastern New England District where Brother Robert J. Ranley (Xi-Beta, Northeastern University, ’05) serves as District Grand Master.
