15) 2016 Kappa Sigma Man of The Year – Mike O’Malley
The Supreme Executive Committee of Kappa Sigma Fraternity is pleased to announce that Brother Michael O’Malley has been selected as the 2016 Kappa Sigma Man of the Year. Brother O’Malley is an American actor and writer and has appeared in many television series and movies. He is known for his role as Jimmy Hughes on the hit series Yes Dear. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role as Burt Hummel for the Fox Series Glee. He has appeared in such movies as 28 Days; Deep Impact; Leatherheads; Eat, Pray, Love, and R.I.P.D.; Pushing Tin; The Perfect Man; Meet Dave; Concussion and Sully.

13) John G. Tower Distinguished Alumnus Award Presented to Founder of Tito’s Handmade Vodka
The highly coveted John G. Tower Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented to Kappa Sigma Brother Bert “Tito” Beveridge. Brother Beveridge is a successful businessman who is the founder and owner of Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Brother Beveridge created his business from scratch in Austin, TX and he has turned it into an award winning, nationally recognized brand that is distributed throughout the world.
12) Kappa Sigma Comes to McGill University!
Kappa Sigma kicked off its newest colony at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. A school of roughly 40,000, McGill University is recognized as one of the top universities in Canada and is currently home to 7 other fraternities. The young men in the Colony chose Kappa Sigma to establish something great on their campus, recognizing it as the largest and most preferred in the world.
11) Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund – Announces 2016 Scholarship-Leadership Award Winners
Since 1947, the Endowment Fund has donated nearly $5 million to brothers demonstrating excellence in academics, campus involvement, and fraternity leadership. The 2016 Scholarship-Leadership Award Program has experienced record participation and growth.

9) Inaugural First Responders Day Is Huge Success!
These men and women fight every day to protect and serve our communities. On Kappa Sigma Campus First Responders Day brothers throughout North America took time to honor and recognize first responders in their communities. Kappa Sigma thanks all first responders for their tireless service and putting their lives on the line everyday to keep our campuses and communities safe.
8) Kappa Sigma Saves Cumberland University, and Football in the South is Born
On the eve of Cumberland University’s 175th anniversary, the school thinks back upon its storied history and one event seems to stand above the rest. The 100th anniversary of a game that would not only save the school from bankruptcy but also put Cumberland University in the annals of collegiate football for all of eternity – all thanks to Kappa Sigma’s Theta Prime Chapter.

6) Kappa Sigma Launched Inaugural Stephen Alonzo Jackson Day of Giving
The Supreme Executive Committee and Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund announced that it would launch the first-ever STEPHEN ALONZO JACKSON DAY OF GIVING on March 4, 2016. The purpose of this historic initiative is to raise funds for each Chapter Scholarship Fund and to honor one of Kappa Sigma’s greatest brothers.
5) Delta-Chi’s Charity Classic Raises $1,000,000 For AGC Over 17 Years!
The Delta-Chi Chapter at Mississippi State University held its 18th Annual Charity Classic football game on March 5, 2016 at Davis Wade Stadium. The Kappa Sigma Raiders took down the men of Phi Delta Theta 18-7 in a game that saw some hard hits and great play from both teams. This year’s game helped Charity Bowl break $1,000,000 in total money raised in its 17 year history and also set a new record for money raised in a single year – $140,000!
4) Now Accepting Applications for 2016 Summer Internship
Kappa Sigma is currently accepting applications for the 2016 summer intern program. This is a project focused internship with both group and individual assignments. Projects will be assigned based on individual skill set. Graduating seniors and undergraduate brothers are strongly encouraged to apply.
3) 2016 Leadership Conference Awards
At the 2016 Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity awarded the deserving Brothers and Chapters in different areas of excellence. Awards provide recognition and motivation for Brothers and Chapters and help promote a positive fraternity experience. The Kappa Sigma Fraternity takes great pride in recognizing those Brothers and Chapters who excel in various aspects of fraternity, campus, and community life.
2) Updated Kappa Sigma Crest
As an organization, it is important for us to protect our identity. Given the nature of our organization, we have a number of official logos – each with a specific purpose. To ensure the proper use of the Kappa Sigma trademarks by you and your chapter, please refer to The Official Branding Guide which can be found in the Public Relations Folder of KappaSig.net. One of the things you will notice is the changes to The Crest. The Crest has changed many times in our past, most recently being in 2014.
1) Leadership Conference 2016
Leadership Conference is held every two years to complete the work of the Order, reflect on past successes while preparing for the future and to share in fellowship with Brothers from across North America. The Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld was the host of this year’s conference.
