Each year we honor and remember those impacted by the tragic events on September 11, 2001. This year again, we need your help in recognizing the brave men and women who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of your campus, your community, and your Chapter. On September 11, 2020, Kappa Sigma First Responders Day will commence to honor our past and appreciate our present.
As Kappa Sigma Brothers, we learn the importance of honoring those who serve and sacrifice, especially in difficult times. Each year we demonstrate this with millions of dollars raised for A Greater Cause and the Military Heroes Campaign. The relationships you have with your campus first responders is also of the utmost importance and should be prioritized.
What you need to do:
- Consider bringing food (dessert items, pizza, etc.) to the station(s) on September 11th, 12th, or 13th. (contact recipient ahead of time to find out any COVID-19 related restrictions)
- Consider bringing a handwritten card signed by the EC and/or chapter to thank them for their service and take a photo with them if possible.
- Document your actions and post to social media under #KappaSigmaCares, and you can claim 5 AGC hours per for each member of your chapter.
Brothers, by participating in this nationwide effort you can also kick-off your academic year with a differentiated act of kindness that your competition will never think to do. Inviting potential rushees to help participate can also further develop your Champion Quest efforts!
On behalf of the Supreme Executive Committee and A Greater Cause Commission, we look forward to seeing the great success your chapter will have through honoring our first responders!
