Kappa Sigma is proud to announce the Supreme Executive Committee has voted to reestablish the Beta-Upsilon Chapter at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., and this past Saturday, April 12, 2025, they were reinstalled as our 80th Chapter. On October 4, 2024, the Beta-Upsilon Colony was kicked off and over the last year has worked hard to achieve their Chapter. To achieve their charter, just this year, the 71 men of Beta-Upsilon donated nearly 3,091 hours of community service, and completed multiple workshops over the Code of Conduct, Champion Quest, and time management.

These Brothers were joined by Past Worthy Grand Scribe Gregory S. Hunt (Beta-Upsilon, ’79), Assistant Director of Recruitment W. Matthew Griffiths (Theta-Rho ’18), and Ritualist R. Kyle Somers (Xi-Rho, ’17) representing the Fraternity. District Grand Master Noah Griffin (Omikron, ’18) and Assistant District Grand Master Keith E. Bandy (Mu-Eta, ’92) represented the District.

Thank you to all the volunteers and alumni who helped make this installation special, including Beta-Upsilon Alumnus Advisor Daniel W. Moss (Kappa-Omega, ’13), Assistant Alumnus Advisor Dennis E. Pitts (Beta-Upsilon, ’70), and Alumni Charles R. Harz (Theta-Pi, ’91), and Nathan K. VanLandingham (Omikron, ’18)

We would also like to thank the Brothers of the following Chapters who attended the Installation as ritual teams:

Theta-Pi – East Carolina University
Lambda-Nu – Appalachian State University
Sigma-Phi – Campbell University
Lambda-Beta – Eastern Tennessee State University

Brothers everywhere wish Beta-Upsilon the best as they begin their road to excellence and offer our congratulations!
