Rho-Chi Chapter Plants Trees to Help Community

The Kappa Sigma Rho-Chi Chapter at the University of Mary Washington has been working with a local organization called Tree Fredericksburg to benefit their community. The brothers recently planted 56 trees with the organization and also turned out in force to clean up a local cemetery.
Community Service chairman Alexander Rios said it has been a great way for the chapter to “keep up an identity with the school and community, letting Fredericksburg know we are here to help.”
Brother Rios says the chapter will continue to work with Tree Fredericksburg in order to keep making a positive impact on the community.
Kappa Sigma is committed to making a difference in the lives of others. It is this commitment that has provided the inspiration and vision for A Greater Cause – the Fraternity’s bold initiative to promote volunteerism, citizenship and service to the community. During the 2013-2015 biennium, Kappa Sigma members raised more than $5.8 million for charity and volunteered over 1.1 million hours of community service as part of the initiative.
