45 years ago today, Brother Edgar D. Mitchell (Delta-Alpha, Carnegie Mellon University, ’50) became the sixth man to walk on the lunar surface. One of only 12 men to do so. As the Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 14, Brother Mitchell spent two days activating scientific equipment and experiments on the lunar surface with Alan Shepard.
Yesterday, Brother Mitchell passed away at his Florida home. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Brother Mitchell. May he be admitted into that rest. A.E.K.Δ.B.
