Sigma-Eta Chapter Gets Cold for a Good Cause

The Sigma-Eta Chapter of Kappa Sigma at Central Michigan will be taking part in its annual Polar Plunge this weekend. The Polar Plunge is in support of the Special Olympics of Michigan. The brothers of Kappa Sigma along with other groups on campus will be braving the ice cold Michigan winter waters for this fundraising effort.
A Greater Cause Chairman Zach Bower has spearheaded the event this year and could not be more excited for the response it has received. “The impact we have in the community is amazing and it is great to see the Special Olympics of Michigan relying on us as Kappa Sigmas to be the #1 supporters.” Along with jumping in the freezing waters the brothers run registration, cleanup, and teardown for the event.
Kappa Sigma is committed to making a difference in the lives of others. It is this commitment that has provided the inspiration and vision for A Greater Cause – the Fraternity’s bold initiative to promote volunteerism, citizenship and service to the community. During the 2013-2015 biennium, Kappa Sigma members raised more than $5.8 million for charity and volunteered over 1.1 million hours of community service as part of the initiative.
