One of the biggest parts of being a Kappa Sigma is learning the ritual. From the pledging process to initiation brothers draw from the time honored parts that every Kappa Sigma goes through. Brother Ben Albertson took this to heart when he began his journey to becoming a Master of the Ritual.
Brother Albertson is currently a sophomore at the Gamma-Nu chapter at Washburn University and he has achieved the status of Master of the Ritual. Little did he know that he would become one of only four total masters in the history of the Kansas district and the first since 2007. A Master of the Ritual has earned all six Ritual Proficiency Certificates. While each certificate varies in difficulty, it is no easy task, and shows the dedication a brother has to Kappa Sigma.
Brother Albertson serves his chapter as Grand Master of Ceremonies (GMC). He said learning and performing the Explanatory Lecture was his favorite part of his journey. He went on to say that after he took a leadership position within his chapter he learned that “if you want to be a good leader you have to set an example for others to follow.” Congratulations to Brother Albertson!
