Kappa Sigma is proud to announce the Supreme Executive Committee has voted to reestablish the Alpha-Zeta Chapter at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan and this past Saturday, January 13, 2024, they were installed, reclaiming their position as our 44th Chapter. On November 19, 2022, the Alpha-Zeta Colony was kicked off and over the last year and a half have worked hard to achieve their Chapter. To achieve their charter, just this year, the men of Alpha-Zeta donated over 4,000 hours of community service, $6,500 to charitable causes, and completed multiple workshops over the Code of Conduct, Champion Quest, and time management.
These Brothers were joined by Worthy Grand Scribe Daniel J. Tierney (Theta-Nu, ’99), Assistant Director of Recruitment and Expansion W. Matthew Griffiths (Theta-Rho, ’18), Communications and Publications Coordinator Michael J. Malenic (Pi-Rho, ’16), and Ritual Commission Member Timothy R. Brinkmeyer (Chi, ’08) representing the Fraternity. Michael L. Benson (Xi-Beta, ’04), and Brian D. Hercliff-Proffer (Omicron-Rho, ’07) represented the Michigan District.
Thank you to all the volunteers and alumni who helped make this installation special, including Alumnus Advisor Robert A. Lowe (Alpha-Zeta, ’93), and Assistant Alumnus Advisors Armani Jackson (Sigma-Eta, ’20), and Timothy J. Lilienthal (Alpha-Zeta, ’12).
We would also like to thank the Brothers of the following Chapters who attended the Installation as ritual teams:
Delta-Psi – Michigan State University
Epsilon-Eta – Bowling Green State University
Omicron-Rho – University of Michigan – Flint
Xi-Nu – University of Western Ontario
Brothers everywhere wish Alpha-Zeta the best as they begin their road to excellence and offer our congratulations!
