On Sunday, February 23, 2020, the brothers of the Xi-Rho Chapter at Stockton University held their 18th Annual Polar Plunge to benefit the Military Heroes Campaign. The event first began back in 2002 when brothers wanted to host an event to raise money for an undergraduates family member’s chemotherapy bills. The event is now one of Stockton’s largest philanthropic events, bringing together the Stockton community at Stockton’s Atlantic City Campus to enjoy the beach, play lawn games, and “Take the Plunge” in support of the Military Heroes Campaign. Over the years, the event has grown exponentially from the 2017 Polar Plunge raising $4,000, the 2018 Polar Plunge bringing in $10,000, the 2019 Polar Plunge raising $14,000 and now, the 2020 Polar Plunge raising more than $25,000 for the Military Heroes Campaign.
“As a staple event on Stockton’s campus, Kappa Sigma’s Polar Plunge brings together friends, families, pets, and brothers from all around the area to raise money for such a great cause. The brothers are forever grateful for the support that we have received over the last few months to help us nearly double last year’s total and raised for than $25,500 for the Military Heroes Campaign.”

The brothers of Xi-Rho would like to send a special thank you to all of the community partners, the Stockton University community, the New Jersey District Kappa Sigma chapters, and Kappa Sigma chapters from around the country for all of their support for this event and helping the Xi-Rho Chapter not only hit their goal of $20,000 for their chapter’s 20th Anniversary but blow it out of the water and raise $25,520 for the Military Heroes Campaign.
